be/get caught up in something      ​to become involved in something, especially when you do not want to be. Sp. estar metido en algo. Verse envuelto en algo.

E.g.         

Innocent passers-by got caught up in the riots.

Several members of Congress were caught up in the scandal. 

How did you get caught up in this mess?

Adults don't have so much time for friends because they are caught up in their own lives.


recap /ˈriːkæp/ verb (recapped, recapping) [intransitive, transitive]    to repeat the main points of something that has just been said. Sp.recapitular, resumir.

 Let me just recap what’s been discussed so far.
