1. Interaction: Talk about the following questions with your partner for about 5 minutes. The pictures are there to help you.

1. Who has similar tastes in free time activities to you?

2. Who can you turn to when you need support?

3. With whom do you get on like a house on fire?

4. Is it possible to read each other's minds

5. Whom would you trust with your life?

6. What are some of the reasons why friends sometimes fall out

7. What are some things people say or do that get on your nerves?

2. Monologue: Below there are some issues related to the topic. You must talk about at least two of them for 3 minutes. You may be asked further questions about the topic when you have finished.  
Student A
 

1. Are you ever late for something and then to add insult to injury something else comes up and delays you further?

2. Do you know any couples who despite being poles apart took to each other straight away?

3. Do you have any friends who have a chip on their shoulder about anything?

Student B 

1. Do you know anyone who has friends in high places

2. When was the last time you were in somebody's bad books

3. Can a film reduce you to tears

If you are in someone's good/bad books, they are pleased/not pleased with you:

E.g.

He's in Melanie's bad books because he arrived two hours late. I cleaned the bathroom yesterday so I'm in Mum's good books.
